The Sholes and Glidden typewriter was the first commercially successful typewriter. It was invented by Christopher Lathem Sholes and was manufactured by E. Remington & Sons of Illium New York in 1874.
The first models were fully decorated with a variation of floral motifs, pastoral scenes, heraldry and portraits. They are a sight to behold. The later Sholes and Glidden Typewriters came painted all black.
If you have the decorated or all black model for sale please be in touch.
