The Elliott Addressing System
Made by the Elliott Co. Cambridge, Massachusetts
|
This intriguing and beautifully built machine would address a stack of letters for mailing. Metal stencils, with the addresses cut out, were loaded into the hamper. As one turned the handle, the addressed stencil cards would be pushed one-by-one through the ink rollers with an envelope to make the imprint.
This machine is the size of a bread box and is a very heavy 40lbs. The weight was needed to stop the machine from vibrating off the table when in use.
