Stenograph 1 - 3rd form

Stenograph 1 - 3rd form

United States Stenograph Co., St. Louis, Missouri
1884 - serial no.2809 - view patent

The third and final form of the Bartholomew Stenograph differs primarily from the second form in having a protruding base that protects the keys from being bumped and broken. It is interesting to see that each of the three Stenograph forms have a different mechanism to change the direction of the ribbon advance. A detailed image showing the back of each Stenograph is shown with each machine's listing.

Found in the fine leather case for this Stenograph is a piece of paper with a most dutiful message that reads 'A brave endeavour to do thy duty, what e'er its worth, is better than life with love forever -- and love is the sweetest thing on earth.' -- Jas Jeffery Roche

This model of Stenograph sold for $40.
